Safety and Weather

Why this matters

We meet outdoors in changing conditions. Clear calls and shared care keep everyone safe and at ease.

Our Calls

Light rain is fine

We walk in mist or drizzle. Bring a layer and a hat.

We cancel for unsafe conditions

Heavy rain, ice, lightning, high winds, extreme heat, or unhealthy smoke mean we pause.

Air Quality

If AQI is 101 or higher, we cancel.

Day-of updates

Check the event page one hour before start time for any changes.

Group Pacing

Conversational Pace

We choose routes most bodies can handle. Say if you need to slow down.

Example: “Can we slow down a little?”

Stay together

Keep the group within sight. Tell the host if you step away.

Example: “I’m pausing at the bench. I’ll catch up in a bit.”

What to Bring

  • Comfortable shoes

  • Weather-ready layers

  • Water

  • Small light if we may finish near dusk

If Conditions Change

We may shorten the route, find shelter, or end early. Safety comes first. No pressure to continue.

If Someone Needs Help

Stay calm. Tell the host. Offer simple support, not diagnosis. We call for medical help if needed.

Example: “Let’s sit, breathe, and check what you need.”

Illness

If you feel sick or have a fever, please skip and join next time.

Shared safety lets us relax and notice what is already here.
